I'm back!

We returned from the beach! What a glorious and LOOOONG weekend it was! We saw elk!

and enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the house we were staying in!

Played on the beach...

Drank coffee!!! Lots of coffee! Finished watching Season 2 of Supernatural and started Season 1 of Heroes, and watched a multitude of Vampire movies on the ABC Family channel!!
Go figure.

Who's that behind that cup? Mr. NK, that's who!! That cup of coffee came from toodling around downtown PDX on our way back to S-town! Leisure was the word of the day for Monday.
Regularly scheduled fiber and knitting pursuits will return shortly!
As a wee tease, I'll give you this...This is a knitting blog isn't it?

Happy Tuesday!

Morning has Broken

like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.

Lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon
Musical arrangement and vocals by Cat Stevens

And this is why I live where I live.

Love Gifts

I had to work today.

Look what was waiting for me at home from Mr. NK! The kitty is wearing a little hand knit sweater! It is way too cute!

It's a blank notebook for my knitting notes!

Mr. NK is a keeper!!

I heart him!

Thank you all for your Birthday wishes for my dad!! You are the best! He posted a "thank you" in the comments section, too!!! And yes, he probably can text-message...he definitely can manipulate a spreadsheet like nobody else I know!!

It's a wrap

It's been a busy week here at Chez NK! Most importantly, we had a birthday!!! My dad turned 90!!! Wow! In case you're bedazzled by these two young men, that would be my dad to the left...Doesn't he look awesome!

My mom made two pies: Chocolate Cream and Banana Cream! She is the master!! I hope all my dad's wishes come true with that one little candle! :)

Dad and mom...isn't she cute?

Jill and Laurie...you might remember them from Thanksgiving last year.

And some knitting occurred over the last couple of days, too.

I turned the heel and finished the gussett on my Great Pumpkin Halloween socks!

And cuz we love picots here at chez NK...here's a little something-something to keep you happy!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

I think I was at the same Pumpkin Patch as Jen! Yum! Hmmm. You'll notice Jen's was King Size...I'm having Reese's Pumpkin envy...

Look what else is growing!

It's the Great Pumpkin Halloween kit from Wool Girl!

What's growing in your Pumpkin Patch?!

The Pagoda Lace socks are done!

On another note, there are two of these signs a few blocks from each other near home...Mr. NK and I don't know what they mean. I think of a particular someone everytime I drive past them.
Any ideas?

Saturday Revelry

The day started off a little green-eyed, but I quickly got over that monster after talking to Linda and L-B while they were at Stitches!! Twice!! I swear to goodness, I haven't heard such a gaggle of giggles in an age!

To top off the day, more giggles were to be had up at Tina's...So, what do a fiber artist and a neuroknitter do on a glorious Saturday afternoon?

We graffitied her pod...

"Beware of what?", you might ask.

The blind vandal...I mean graffiti artist...perhaps?

What? You've never seen sock graffiti before? You're not in Kansas anymore...this is Blue Moon territory!

I believe there might even be a face in that moon if you look hard enough...

Not bad for first timers, huh!? We laughed so hard I bet they heard us at Stitches!!

Green...

with envy I am!!!

L-B is at stitches with Wendy. Kaci is with Debbie (ok, so they're working, they're still there)... and Linda is going to hook up on Saturday...

...Well, pretty for sure she'll track down L-B.

And keeping in mind six degrees of separation...and given that all the parties are at the same dang event...

Well, you get the picture...Even my Blue Moon bag is green with envy!

Sigh.

Have fun you guys!!! I won't hate you after Sunday! :) :)
